Description
Many specialty treatments can be applied to wood to either improve its performance or change its properties. Treatments addressed in this course are those that make permanent changes in the shape of a wood product, improvements in dimensional stability, or improvements in performance through combinations with non-wood resources.
This course is intended for Structural, Civil, Materials, Construction, Transportation, and other engineers whose job description may require general knowledge of specialty wood treatments. Students will gain an understanding from this course of the various specialty treatments available for wood products which can be used to change the performance or properties of lumber.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end and is intended to provide 2 hours of professional development.
